La Concha and the Joy of Local Art & Culture

The joy of our most-awaited local festival, Fiestas de San Sebastian, is felt once again at La Concha Resort with local art exhibitions and works of students from the Escuela de Artes Plásticas y Diseño de Puerto Rico (School of Plastic Arts & Design) in San Juan.

La Concha Resort renews its collaboration with the Escuela de Artes Plásticas y Diseño de Puerto Rico (EAPD) for the San Sebastián Festival 2025. For the second year in a row, La Concha Resort joins the EAPD to create the official shirt in celebration of SanSe 2025. This collaboration reaffirms The Condado Collection’s commitment to community, culture and Puerto Rican art.

The EADP led the invitation targeted to students for the design of the shirt, while the executive team of The Condado Collection had the responsibility to evaluate the proposals. The designed was created by Jehiel Franco Torres, a talented plastic artist and graduate candidate, who currently works as studio assistant of the recognized artist José Lerma. Through his distinctive palette of colors and artistic style, Jehiel achieved to transmit deep emotions and feelings by integrating the iconic seashell shaped floating venue of La Concha, the ocean, and the El Morro garitas. As a recognition to his creativity and effort, The Condado Collection awarded him a prize of $1,000.

During the SanSe weekend, La Concha Resort employees will wear this shirt, to demonstrate their pride to support local art. Also, as part of this celebration, Jehiel will lead an exclusive workshop for hotel guests on Saturday, January 18th, offering a unique and immersive cultural experience.

As La Concha’s General Manager Mike Rivera said, “We invite everyone to visit our Lobby to start this celebration, where you can acquire the shirt with Jehiel’s unique design and be part of the SanSe 2025 spirit from the heart of Condado”.

La Concha Resort also joins EADP to support its fundraising initiatives. The hotel, with Casino del Mar, gave a $3,000 donation from the sale of the shirts, in benefit of the institution. The shirt will be available for the general public for a cost of $10. They can be acquired until Saturday, January 18th in this link: https://www.eap.edu/pagos-t-shirt-la-concha-sanse-2025/. They can be picked up at the La Concha Front Desk, or valet parking with evidence of sale. Shirts are subject to availability.

The Escuela de Artes Plásticas y Diseño (School of Plastic Arts and Design) is a non-profit organization institution established as an autonomous government entity since August 22, 1990. Founded in 1965, in its beginnings it was part of the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture.
